My criteria for great clothing is quite straightforward: it needs to be 1) comfortable (no cutting in anywhere) 2) durable (I have a busy, toddler-messy lifestyle) 3) good-looking but not too glamorous (it simply isn’t my style, if I had one!). Thankfully, this Fall I was introduced to Aventura Clothing when they asked me to come on board as one of their Canadian ambassadors. Based in the Sierra Nevadas, this lifestyle apparel brand has started to win me over, mainly because it fulfills my three criteria and because I like to support companies that are making efforts to product eco-friendly clothing.
On my first few hikes with my newborn, I faced a slight dilemma: what to wear so that I could be comfortable while on the move, but also free to nurse wherever I needed to. So, I went on a search for nursing tops for the active mama. Thankfully, I bumped into Momzelle online and they had a top that was the perfect fit (in more ways than one): the Motion Tank.
This time it’s an item I may not have picked out on my own, but I am sure glad to have in my closet! The Acadia Maternity and Nursing Poncho is just as it sounds – a maternity and nursing poncho! This “sweater” tents over the body, but has buttons sewn in so that you can create pseudo-sleeves. The poncho is thick and fleecy – just perfect for those cold winter days or, as as see up here in the Canadian Rockies, cold summer nights!
I have had the Trinity Maternity Hiking Pant in my possession since the beginning of my pregnancy. And while I’m almost eight weeks postpartum, I have waited until now to post a review because these pants, like many products from Mountain Mama, are made to be worn before, during and after pregnancy. I thought I’d put that claim to the test.
