Joining All the Mountain Mamas

I’ve got interviews with AdventureTykes.com and OutsideMom.com waiting to be posted, but this past week I received news that made a certain little announcement imperative to post.

This past week, Mountain Mama, the maternity wear company for women who play outside, asked me to come on board as a brand ambassador! Yes, so what this means is that this outdoor, adventure writer is “expecting adventure” with a mini mountain person due March 2013! So, all of you who had a sneaking suspicion about the timing and launch of this project, you were absolutely right. I am super stoked to be joining forces with a company that I have already grown (literally!) to respect and love.

I’ll be trying out and reviewing some gear for Mountain Mama and posting regular articles as I journey through pregnancy as an active, outdoorsy woman. Being in my 15th week now, I have already been through a rather different summer than usual. Normally I spend my summers in the alpine, but realized around Week 5 that certain types of alpine experiences aren’t particularly suited to the pregnant lady (more on that coming – it’s a rather entertaining story). Still, I have managed to keep up with my hiking and the odd scramble, so the unborn child has already been to many wonderful places and high points, including five or six summits here in the Canadian Rockies.

I will continue to interview outdoor adventurers who have made the transition to parenthood and draw inspiration from their stories, and I am excited to finally be able to write from personal experience. So, I invite you to join me on my journey from Week 15 to Week 40, and enjoy a few of my early pregnancy stories, tips and learnings as well!

All good things,

Meghan
