Review: Harper Hoodie and Whitney Long-Sleeve Eco Tee by Mountain Mama

Mountain Mama is a maternity company for women who love to play outdoors. This company’s whole vision is catered towards helping women stay active in the outdoors through pregnancy by providing functional clothing that women can also can feel good in. But when women aren’t experimenting outdoors with their “bumps” and sweating it up on a bike ride or hike, they need something cozy and comfortable. Thankfully, Mountain Mama has just the clothing for that, too!

I tried two of these items, the Harper Hoodie and Whitney Long-Sleeve Eco Tee, and thought I’d give you my thoughts on each.

Harper Hoodie

The Harper Hoodie is a mid-weight pullover hoodie that leaves extra room in the kangaroo pocket for your belly (that famous Bellyglove fit!), and features just the right amount of stretch to grow with you. It will easily become your ‘fav’ for lounging around at home or on a movie night at a friend’s. I especially like the long arms, thumb cuffs and high collar for added coziness. The weight is just right, but I’d also like to see a thicker, warmer version of this so that I could rely on it in the colder temperatures I see up here in Banff.

Two things I wished this hoodie had: a tighter, wider and stretchier hem at the bottom (something to hug the hips a bit) and more colours! The Harper Hoodie fits nicely on the belly but then the material kind of just hangs below that. Mine is a tad too big, so I feel even bigger in it than I really am (a bit of a sore spot for a pregnant lady!). The heathered grey is a lovely colour on most women…unfortunately not me. It is the only colour option at this point.

Overall I’d give it 3.8/5.

You will instantly fall in love with the Whitney Long-Sleeve Eco Tee. This simple V-neck tee has ample stretch and that Bellyglove fit so that it drapes nicely over your growing belly. One of my favourite things about it is the feel of the material. For this top Mountain Mama uses EstiraTec II, their new, sustainable modal fabric, which makes it super soft.

The Whitney Long-Sleeve Eco Tee is the perfect tee to throw on with a pair of jeans, tights, yoga pants (I’m wearing it in the photo here with Mountain Mama’s Leah Yoga Pant), a skirt…anything! It also comes in a variety of colours for you to choose from. I have two of these and they have quickly become my ‘go to’ tops for running errands, meeting friends, lounging around at home and even going for walks.

Overall I’d give it a 5/5!

Thanks, Mountain Mama, for sending along these products to me for review. More reviews of their products to come!
